Unfortunately our 2022 Sunflower Farm Fest Cancelled Due to Drought
The weather (and the turkeys who eat the seed and the deer who eat the young stalks) for the past few years has made it very difficult for us to grow sunflowers. We dont quit!
We have moved sunflowers up closer to where we can keep the deer from eating it and can water it if we need to. Now we have Zinnias where we had sunflowers. Deer are not interested in Zinnias, but unfortunately, we don't have a way to get water to them. We hope to come up with a solution in the future but for now we are relying on Mother Nature. We've planted milkweed for the Monarchs as well as wildflowers, Cosmos and Zinnias in a field behind the lavender. Another field has been planted with Hydrangeas, which will take a few years while they grow. It's our intention to offer cut Hydrangea flowers in the future.
